interesting and the most intensive part of the conference in Odessa
was a speech of Igor Nekrestyaninov (Lead Engineer, Sun Microsystems)
about new Java options by developping Desktop application. This new
changes will be ready starting from 10th
update of Java Standart Edition 6. So, what is new? At first it is a
new skin for graphic interfaces, which will be fully raster. So now
Java specialists can write programms not in square windows as
usually, but also in windows of any other form. Demonstrated by
speaker examples were really impressive, round and wave-shaped windows, different animation and many effects which are so beloved by
users:). Important is also a news that SUN is planning to give the
second life to recently forgotten applets technology. In additional, extra speakers on the conference, the representatives of Sun Microsystems (Russia, Moscow) and Exigen Service (Russia, Sankt-Petersburg), pointed increasing interest to the problems discussed and to the topic in general.
